Hi, I’m Melissa Neitzel, MT-BC

WElcome

Hello, I’m glad you are here. My name is Melissa and I am a board certified music therapist and owner of Covered Bridge Music Therapy. I have been practicing since 2015, primarily in the medical setting. In 2022, I recognized the need to bring music therapy to my community and opened Covered Bridge Music Therapy.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with medically fragile children, premature infants and their caregivers, children with developmental disabilities and mental health needs, and adults in the medical setting. Witnessing the profound changes that occur when music is used purposefully and intentionally has solidified my passion for this field.

The Power of Music

As a music therapist, I firmly believe in the inherent ability of music to heal, empower, and connect people in ways that words sometimes can't. Whether it's using melodies and rhythms to relieve stress, facilitating self-expression through songwriting, or nurturing connections in group settings, music therapy offers boundless possibilities for growth and healing.

Connection Through Music

Music therapy has the potential to foster meaningful connections. I have witnessed music create safe spaces for individuals to express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. It is through these connections that profound healing and growth can occur.
